IMAP settings
- Server
- mail.yourdomain.ro, or the server name cPanel shows (e.g. server123.host.com)
- Port
- 993 (SSL/TLS)
- Username
- the full address, office@yourdomain.ro
- Password
- the mailbox password, not the cPanel password
Find the settings
- 1Sign in to cPanel and open Email Accounts.
- 2Next to the address, click Connect Devices.
- 3Under “Secure SSL/TLS Settings”, note the Incoming Server. That is the name the certificate is issued for.
If the wizard warns about the certificate
On shared hosting the certificate usually belongs to the server (server123.host.com), not to mail.yourdomain.ro. VayaMail shows the name on the certificate and offers to switch to it, which keeps the connection fully verified. Only tick “Allow insecure certificate” if the host has no valid certificate at all.
Folders
cPanel (Dovecot) keeps folders under INBOX., like INBOX.Sent or INBOX.Sent Messages. VayaMail strips the prefix and maps Sent, Drafts, Trash and Spam to the matching folders on the new host, so you don’t end up with “INBOX.Sent” next to “Sent”.
Webmail contacts
Contacts saved in Roundcube or Horde are not on the mail server. Export them separately: see the Roundcube contacts guide.
